1.- All participants who register a short film must be university students (current or former) from Yucatan, Campeche, Quintana Roo, Chiapas, Tabasco, or also from Belize or Guatemala, at the time of registration. Former students must not to be older than one year of having graduated from their degree.
2.- Short films must not have a duration longer than 15 minutes, including credits, and may not be recorded before 2015. There is no limit to the short films that each participant can register, but an individual submission procedure must be carried out for each work.
3.- The short films can be animations, fiction or non-fiction, and should be within the theme of fantasy or horror.
4.- To register, participants must make a single digital submission with the following information:
4.1.- A copy of a valid identification that you are accrediting as a university student (or a letter of intern), the enrollment form with completed information and the film exhibition license (download here).
4.2.- A LINK of Vimeo or private Youtube that takes the short film. The copy may be spoken in any language, caring for the following conditions: if spoken in a language other than Spanish, it must be subtitled in Spanish, if it is spoken in Spanish, it must be subtitled in English. If you have parts that are not spoken in Spanish nor English, you must have both subtitles.
4.3.- Two images extracted from the work in JPG format (stills).
4.4.- The package with all the documents and the download link should be sent to email@example.com, with subject ” INSCRIPCION CORTO- short film title-“.
4.5.- The deadline for receiving films will be Friday, November 3 at 10:00 p.m. The titles of the short films selected to participate will be announced on Monday, November
4.6.- The entry for short will have a fee of $ 38.00 Mexican pesos or $ 2.00 US dollars (in the case of Belize and Guatemala). To make the payment by PayPal access to this link paypal.me/morbidomerida or request mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) the account number for deposits in OXXO or bank.
5.- In case of being selected to participate, the participant must send a copy to download the short film in Quicktime format H.264 (.mov), specifying the original aspect ratio (Widescreen / Standard), with a minimum HD resolution (1280×720). This digital copy should be sent using free services such as wetransfer.com or a public link to dropbox.com, or a private link to vimeo.com (enabling download). Morbido Mérida will not accept any charges for downloading the material, nor will the short film be accepted on a physical medium. Only digitally submitted jobs will be accepted.
ABOUT THE AWARD
6.- Mórbido Mérida 2015 will be held from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 November 2017 at various venues in the city centers of Mérida.
7.- The selected short films will be shown in a special screening that will be part of the selection for this year. All selected short films will receive a letter of participation and their directors will receive a VIP pass as a special guest to Mórbido Mérida (and free access to all their activities).
8.- The award of the seventh short film competition will be during the closing ceremony of the festival, on November 19. A special statuette will be awarded to the winner and $ 1,000 Pesos Mexicanos.
9.- The jury will be qualified by specialists in the subject, and will be announced before the presentation of the short films.
10.- The contest may be declared empty in the event that an appropriate number of selectable shorts is not reached.
